HaloHaus

The conceptual goal for HaloHaus is to blend together the design principles of Richard Meier with the aesthetic and functional qualities of Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron. The primary aesthetic feature is the vertical panel system that also provides privacy and sun control. The space layout takes on rational modernist approach, with clear access corridors and stairs that wrap a single plane from first floor to rooftop terrace (e.g. Richard Meier).

The halos define landscape and patio space, blurring the edge between indoor and outdoor. The structure is sunken into the ground to lower the street profile and enhance views to the park. Vertical circulation wraps around the main support in a Meierian fashion, opening to the rooftop patio above.
