Atria

Atria is a live/work project within a newly envisioned masterplan for Sun Valley neighborhood in Denver. The masterplan reconnects an underserved portion of the city to downtown, promoting pedestrian and alternative transportation through a central raised loop with a courtyard park. Nodes at key locations connect pedestrian paths to the Loop and back to the city. Atria is located directly adjacent to the middle node and a newly established park.

The residential portion of the project incorporates a high rate of affordable housing units to enhance the existing neighborhood structure. Both buildings are raised to encourage circulation below. Each have open horizontal atria and interstitial walls to promote social and natural interaction while day lighting and ventilating the structures. The central courtyard is large atrium, providing cool air intake, passive ventilation and, green space.
